Connect your Pinterest account

OAuth walkthrough for connecting a personal or business Pinterest account.

Updated July 9, 2026

Connecting Pinterest is what opens up the good stuff: real board and pin data, your "winning now" keywords, and account-aware board suggestions. It uses Pinterest's secure OAuth, so you log in on Pinterest's own screen and never hand us your password.

To connect:

  1. Go to Integrations.
  2. Click Connect Pinterest.
  3. You are sent to Pinterest to log in and approve access. Log in with the account you want to use.
  4. Review the permissions and approve. PIN Hacking requests read access to your boards and pins, plus ads data when available, to power keyword and board features.
  5. Pinterest sends you back to PIN Hacking and your account shows as connected.

To confirm it worked: Your Integrations page should show Pinterest as connected.

Good to know:

  • Personal or business account? Use the account that holds the boards and pins you want the tools to read. A business account is recommended for full data.
  • Reconnect banner. If you connected a while ago, you may see a prompt to reconnect to upgrade access. Reconnecting grants the newer permissions so features like keyword metrics work fully.
  • Managing more than one account or client?

If the connection fails or you see errors after connecting, see "Pinterest connection shows 401 errors" in Troubleshooting.
